MUAMBA MAKING REMARKABLE PROGRESS

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba has said that he is making remarkable progress in his attempts to overcome the heart condition that has troubled him for the past month or so. The Bolton Wanderers midfielder suffered a heart attack in the middle of the FA cup quarter-final match between Bolton and Tottenham at the White Hart Lane. He has now been discharged from the hospital and is continuing his rehabilitation process. He has now said that he was unable to walk more than five steps after suffering the cardiac arrest in the match against Tottenham.

It is thought that his heart was not functioning for up to 78 minutes until it was brought back to working condition using defibrillators. After being unconscious for three days, Muamba has said that he felt extremely fit prior to the incident. The miraculous recovery from the 24-year-old has stunned the world football, which made its tributes to the player. A number of high-profile names have lost their lives playing football in recent times. Muamba has thanked the support of the medics at Tottenham for their part in his recovery. Muamba also reveals that he is now extremely tired after walking for just 20 minutes while previously he was capable of running miles together.

“I couldn’t believe how wrecked I felt. I only managed about five paces from my bed, but felt like I’d just run the London marathon. It was a shock feeling like that because I’ve trained hard all my adult life and like to think I’m in very good shape. A few months ago I would think nothing of running miles, but now I’m tired after a 20-minute walk around the block. But now I’m making progress,” said the midfielder. It is still unknown whether he will continue playing football again.
