However, he does not want to put an end to his professional career and wants to play football if without worsening his condition once again. It was highly doubtful that Fabrice Muamba could even recover from his issue, but the 24-year-old has made a miraculous recovery.

However, he is a major doubt to once again play as a professional footballer. The 24-year-old, though, has expressed his confidence that he will be able to play first-team football for Bolton Wanderers once again. He has revealed that he has started making progress in terms of being able to walk and do light exercises without any problems. He has said that he remembers only been dizzy during the incident that occurred back in March against Tottenham. He has also thanked all the fans and people from all over the world from whom he has received incredible support.

“I am happy to be here and the fact is I continue to feel fine. I am improving slowly but surely. At the moment I am not doing exercise, I am just enjoying life and travelling. It is a great privilege to be able to live without the assistance of a respiratory machine or something like that. It is fantastic. I have to co-ordinate with my doctor and see what he says but I’ll never say never. It is a miracle because I shouldn’t even have lived, so everything that comes now is a bonus,” said Muamba.

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba has said that he is making remarkable progress in his attempts to overcome the heart condition that has troubled him for the past month or so. The Bolton Wanderers midfielder suffered a heart attack in the middle of the FA cup quarter-final match between Bolton and Tottenham at the White Hart Lane. He has now been discharged from the hospital and is continuing his rehabilitation process. He has now said that he was unable to walk more than five steps after suffering the cardiac arrest in the match against Tottenham.

It is thought that his heart was not functioning for up to 78 minutes until it was brought back to working condition using defibrillators. After being unconscious for three days, Muamba has said that he felt extremely fit prior to the incident. The miraculous recovery from the 24-year-old has stunned the world football, which made its tributes to the player. A number of high-profile names have lost their lives playing football in recent times. Muamba has thanked the support of the medics at Tottenham for their part in his recovery. Muamba also reveals that he is now extremely tired after walking for just 20 minutes while previously he was capable of running miles together.

“I couldn’t believe how wrecked I felt. I only managed about five paces from my bed, but felt like I’d just run the London marathon. It was a shock feeling like that because I’ve trained hard all my adult life and like to think I’m in very good shape. A few months ago I would think nothing of running miles, but now I’m tired after a 20-minute walk around the block. But now I’m making progress,” said the midfielder. It is still unknown whether he will continue playing football again.

MANCINI CALLS FOR MORE SCREENINGS

MANCINI CALLS FOR MORE SCREENINGS

Manchester city manager Roberto Mancini has said that there should be more screenings to detect heart conditions within players. His statement comes after many tributes to Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba, who collapsed on the field during a recent match between them and Tottenham in the FA Cup.

Fabrice Muamba is thought to have a genetic heart condition, which has been the cause of many player’s deaths over the last couple of years. There has been no proper screening test done in order to identify this problem. As a result, Roberto Mancini says that players should be scanned and screened for this heart defect, which may cause potential problems in the future.

Players Association chief executive Gordon Taylor recently said that they have spent more than £ 350,000 in the last 20 years just in doing the heart screening tests. However, they have not proven to be sufficient following the collapse of Fabrice Muamba. The Bolton midfielder is thought to be doing extremely well after being in critical condition for a number of days. He has been making slow recovery, but it is thought that he may not play football again. New reports have said that Muamba was unconscious for up to 78 min before he was brought back to life.

“When I saw our medical [procedures] two years ago, I was worried. I said we need to do them better. We need to improve the medical side for the players. We need to screen the players often, maybe two times a year, and they have to be more accurate. What happened to Muamba at Tottenham can happen and that should be impossible,” Mancini said regarding the need for proper screening tests. Mancini also said that the Premier league should be thanked for the good medical facilities provided at the grounds.
